How BioSNEDS™ Works
- High-quality plant compounds / bio actives such as resveratrol or curcumin, are fermented with probiotic and nutritional yeasts.
- During fermentation, the bio actives are encapsulated within glucan particles, protecting them from degradation and ensuring stability.
- The glucan-encapsulated bio actives are further encapsulated in a lipid-based matrix and upon contact with digestive juices, the lipid system forms emulsions, enhancing dispersibility and facilitating absorption.
- The ‘double bubble’ BioSNEDS™ bio active uses the lymphatic system as a pathway, bypasses the liver’s first-pass metabolism, ensuring higher bioavailability and cell-targeted delivery.
Overcoming the liver first-pass effect
CONVENTIONAL
When nutraceutical products are taken orally, they are absorbed in the stomach and intestines before being transported to the liver via the bloodstream. This process, known as the liver first-pass effect, involves the liver metabolizing and breaking down a portion of the active ingredients before they can enter systemic circulation. As a result, bioavailability can be significantly reduced.
